Former President/General Manager, KMEX
Danny Villanueva was president and general manager of KMEX Los Angeles, and former NFL punter and place kicker for the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys. After retiring from the NFL in 1967, he became a sports broadcaster on KNBC Los Angeles and would become a part- owner of a Spanish-language chain that would later become Univision.
Villanueva was one of the founders of Telemundo. He is a member of the National Hispanic Hall of Fame and the Hispanic Sports Foundation for Education Inc.’s National Hispanic Hall Of Fame. He was the KMEX station manager at the time of Salazar’s death.
