Ernesto Vigil is an activist, author and speaker. As a young Vietnam War draft resister and member of the Denver-based Crusade for Justice from 1968-1981, he was and is strong supporter of civil rights for Mexican-Americans. Vigil recalls the Chicano Movement and Ruben Salazar from the 1968 Denver Crusade for Justice.
Vigil is the author of The Crusade for Justice: Chicano Militancy and the Government's War on Dissent (University of Wisconsin Press, 1999), which follows the origins behind the Crusade for Justice Movement. Vigil has also served as a research associate for the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race in America at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
